Francis of Assisi

I am reading another Brennan Manning book. I really love his books. He quotes Francis of Assisi in a chapter, and it really spoke to me:
” Keep a clear eye toward life’s end. Do not forget your purpose and destiny as God’s creature. What you are in his sight is what you are and nothing more. Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take with you nothing that you have recieved- fading symbols of honor, trappings of power- but only what you have given: a full heart enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice and courage.”

Kristen,
Thank you for posting that. I needed to hear it.
I’ve been through the wringer recently, and have been preoccupied in whether or not someone was trashing my reputation. God has been gently moving me away from that.
I hope you have a lovely and blessed weekend!
