Last Week Of School!

(These are baby lizards eggs that hatched, that Blue had in his class for the last 40 days. I am not a reptile person at all, but now I’m convinced that anything as a baby is cute)
This is the last week of school, and Blue’s last week of kindergarten! I can not believe how fast the last few months have flown by. I am having mixed feelings. I am sentimental as we say goodbye to the sweet kindergartner year, goodbye to a really wonderful teacher, and also ready to celebrate a job well done, and ready to embrace lazier days of summer!
One thing I am excited about of having Blue do, is a journal this summer. I don’t want him to lose his reading, writing skills he’s gained this year, so I thought having him write and draw in a journal each day this summer will be a great exercsise, and a wonderful momento for me to keep…
Some of our other plans are swimming a ton, taking a couple day trips, maybe seeing the ocean (I hope so at least!), visiting an aquarium, and having family come out and visit!
What are your summer plans?

The baby lizards are darling. Then again, I do love reptiles!
We’re planning to hit one NASCAR race, take at least one weekend camping trip, visit the zoo, and hopefully fit in some fishing. Other than that, we’ll likely spend many days/evenings at my parents’ house in and by the pool.

That’s awesome! I love the baby lizard idea in a classroom. We are waiting for our butterflies to emerge from their chrysalises in ours right now. I can’t believe we only have 12 days of school left. Does Blue’s school have a K graduation? I’m subbing in K right now, and we’ve been practicing our song and motions for the big night. Caps and gowns and everything! Today in their journals they wrote about a story I read, “Chicks and Salsa.” One little girl wrote about the pigs eating “gwookamoley.” I LOVE reading their journal entries!

That’s such a great idea about a journal over the summer! I’ll have to remember that for next year.
Eli graduates Pre School next week, and I can’t believe this is our last summer at home without him having a break from ‘real’ school. I have such mixed emotions about him starting Kindergarten in the fall- but encouraged to hear you really enjoyed the year!!

What a great idea about the journal! I have to remember that for Aron. We’ll be swimming, too and T-ball and the Zoo and tons more I am sure. If you swim at the rec, let us know! We’d love to meet up there.

I’m going on a missions trip next month to the Philippines. I also am planning on enjoying my kids more this summer. Hanging @ the beach and we want to hike and explore more of the inter-island part of Kauai. My oldest is 20 & will soon be too busy with Nursing school & her own life to hang with us so I want to enjoy the time I have left of having all 7 of my kids together!

Haven’t really made any plans yet since we will be working. However, we hoping to take a week before school and go somewhere. We’ve been thinking about going to Nashville since my son has a friend who lives in Cookeville. That way he could visit him while we are there.
If you are looking for an aquarium to visit my niece has been to the one in Atlanta and she said it is really nice. Oh. and I love the journal idea.
