Cabin Fever
Yesterday we were stuck at home the entire day, and after being home all weekend due to illness, we had watched enough tv, played enough games and puzzles, we were ready to get outside! We tried… but with the temperature only reaching 40 degrees at the high, the lingering coughs came back full force after only being outside for a half hour. So, back indoors we went, determined to find something “fun” to do.
The boys played “zoo” and made our home into different sections of the zoo, with stuffed animals, and our real animals. Our dog was a “wolf,” our cat the “tiger,” and our vacant crib in the hallway was a “reptile cage.”
~Later after browsing through the highlights magazine, Blue found these basketball hoops, so we made them!

Then, we ended the day making an obstacle course through the room. By the end of the day, our cabin fever was gone.

Kristin, Was this an article on how to make them or did you just do it from scratch? I would love to see a copy of the article on how to make them. Please share which month, etc, or where to get the specs on how to make them.

Good stuff! I love Highlights! I really need to get Aron a subscription.
I will try my hardest to bring the sunny, almost 80 degree weather we had here in TX today back with me on Friday!

I just subscribed Malachi to PuzzleBuzz, a pre-school version of Highlights. He loves it!
How fun to spend an entire day, playing with your kids. You’re such a good mom.

I loved Highlights magazine! We did some many projects out of them when I was a kid.
Hope everyone feels better!

Nice basketball hoops! It’s finally been nice here, but after running outside yesterday, my hips hurt so bad I don’t think I can go out today. It was nice to be out in the sun and fresh air. Although, being so near the windy city means there is a constant wind. If only that wind wasn’t cooler it would be great. Hope warm and spring-like weather comes to stay soon.
