Gardening Obsession

All I can seem to think about and talk about is what I want to plant in my flower beds, and in my garden.  I’m sure I’m driving my friends and family crazy, constantly talking about flowers and veggies!  To extend, driving people crazier, I’ll share some things with you that are so cool that I’ve found online!

I love to “garden,”  but I’m not that great at it, and I honestly don’t know what I’m doing.  I’ve been trying to read, and research, and plan as best I’ve can and I’ve found a few tools and sites, that are helping me:

Being outside in the sun, feels amazing, and even just doing a little yard work is so physically wearing, I can’t believe it- but it feels great.  I got my boys their shovels at the the dollar store today, so I am gearing up to do some major work around my house during spring break, if it will just stop raining!

*Anyone else garden obsessed? What are you planting?

Things die when they come to my house, but I’ve got two geraniums out on the patio this year that might survive. Speaking of, I should probably water them…

I had to do too much yard work as a kid. So, I’m not into it, but my husband and daughter are. We have lettuce growing and tomatoes. I’d like more papaya trees and I’m looking forward to my starfruit producing more fruit!

I have a “black thumb,” but I’m trying to learn. The previous owners of this house did a wonderful job growing beautiful flowers, and I’d hate to be the one that killed all the plants.

    Thanks for the links.

My husband is the gardener. He loves to dabble. He has about 15 spider plants that hang in the trees during summer & hang all over my house in the winter! He loves to try tropical plants in the Tx Panhandle! Just to be different! He does do the veggies, too. It took a while to get used to Tx soil & weather after growing up in Pittsburgh, but he has diversified alot. Enjoy. My husband claims it’s his stress reliever. That’s all he needs.

I love it, too! And like you, I’m sort of teaching myself and have a lot to learn. But it’s so fun to see things grow. I have so many ideas I want to do; it’s a matter of the free time matching up with perfect weather.

I used to love to work in my flowerbeds, do the yard work and garden. I don’t do as much anymore mainly because my back can’t handle as much.
