Some Good Ideas~

~ Let’s bring back, or introduce into our culture- afternoon tea or coffee with a friend. This is a cultural thing in other countries, I think it should be re-instituted here. Let’s do it. Yesterday my friend came over for afternoon coffee, and it was a wonderful treat, at the perfect time of day. Across the country “afternoon tea time with a friend”, who’s with me?
~Speaking of coffee…. I drink starbucks maybe once a month, but once the warm weather hits, I’m definitely saving my frapaccino containers to re-purpose them into these “no spill paint holders.” Such a great idea!
~LOST fans, after last nights’ crazy episode, don’t you need to discuss it? Head over to My friend Amy’s blog, she does a great re cap + discussion.
Snowy Berries….

The snow came, and it lingers. There is still a layer of snow on my back deck, and in the shadows of the trees. The boys still stop to take a bite off the top of their melting snow man- (snow mound), and it is genuinely cold outside.
Nonetheless, I have dove into spring cleaning. It may be a sense of spring approaching, or simply my desire to see spring arrive. I don’t look forward to the allergies Tennessee Spring brings to me, but the feeling of the warmth of the sun far outweighs the annoyance of my stinging eyes, and running nose.
For now, I’m happy to see the snow, it is a tangible expression of how cold it feels outside- but sunshine and warmth I am ready for you to come my way!!!
~What is the weather like where you are?
Our Dr. Seuss-y Day.
*Today we had a fun Dr. Seuss day! We made hats, and read books, played on Seussville, did some print out Dr. Seuss activities, ate chocolate covered strawberries and bananas which were covered in colorful sprinkles, (nobody liked the bananas.) I visited Blue’s class where I saw most of the teachers dressed up, and the children all decked out in great costumes.
Later on, after the boys cleaned their room (faster than the cat in the hat- according to Aiden) we finished the day watching part of The Cat in the Hat movie in a tent. (Any reason to celebrate and have chocolate covered strawberries, is fine by me.. who’s birthday is it tomorrow?)

Some favorite quotes from Dr. Seuss~
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
S.S.S.

- We woke up to the ground covered in snow this morning! Which means another snow/ play day!
- My son is drawing pictures of “macaroni penguins,” for the penguins outside, because to him snow = penguins and polar bears.
- Brody always says, “It’s a Christmas miracle,” every time it snows.
- I’m making a “cat in the hat” hat for Blue today, because he’s got to dress like his favorite Dr’ Suess character for school tomorrow.
- We’ll probably end up reading and watching cat in the hat for inspiration.
- Blue went to a birthday party at a gymnastics gym, and had some serious fun bouncing, flying off a rope into a foam pit, and going down a zip line into another foam pit.
- One of the class moms and I were talking about some of the schooling that we’d done in the same part of Spain, and the conversation led to her asking me to teach some of her preschool Spanish classes. I’m very excited about this prospect!
- I helped my husband move our couch up to our office, upstairs. (yes, you are right, didn’t I just have an messed up back? I said “helped” which basically means “watched in support” in case the couch pinned him so I could go get help)
- Grateful for the stack of books I borrowed from my friend, for this snowy weekend, before I start my spring cleaning this week!
- Happy
