I would love to see that article!

Hmm...isn't tea tree oil a natural anti-bacterial for people? Could you use that to clean stuff too?

Larissa, that is a bummer that you can't find the washing soda, I am sure shipping to Canada may cost a bit too.

I do love the laundry soap that I made, I don't see myself switching back now that I see how easy it is, and that it works just as good- I will however find a better container than a bucket with no lid!

Funny you said that- this morning I was thinking again about what in the world KETCHUP does- and I was thinking it sounded vaguely familiar that it might polish old silverware.... Not sure if that's right or not, although if you remember it polishing something too....???
Still can't find washing soda- I must have called at least 20 stores? I resort to finding it online.... Although then I have to find shipping to Canada which usually is a task in itself!
I don't mind the smell of vinegar- I sometimes add some lemon oil or whatever to it also, and that also changes it up a bit. Maybe I'm just used to the smell though....
Hey- how do you like your laundry detergent? Is that all you use now??

I think ketchup polishes something... not sure, I should read it again.

I love how well vinegar cleans and deoderizes, but I don't like how right after you clean, the house smells like you made potato salad or something! I'm going to try a new mixture for an all purpose cleaner with washing soda.

Did you find that stuff yet?

I make everything I use with household stuff like you say- I use lots of vinegar and baking soda, specifically.
But, I also keep a thing of "Disinfectant" on hand, too. The bad kind. Cuz sometimes you just want something that you KNOW will kill everything!! (I usually use that stuff for my toilets, actually!)
But I'm curious what ketchup does for cleaning? I don't think I've heard that one before??

I really like Mrs. Meyers. I haven't used all of it yet but am slowly adapting. The smells are amazing! I use the hand soap, dish soap, counter spray and they have baby spray for highchairs and toys, though you can use it all. I recommend it.

Holy Cow is good stuff. Their whole line works pretty well actually. Simple Green is also super. My wife, Jess knows a bunch of real simple home remedy recipes (not for eating... you know what I mean).

I use Simple Green and I love it! I buy the large jug of concentrate at Lowes for about $9 and it last me over a year. I use it in every room of the house and it has a very clean smell, but not perfume-y. I have even put a cap-ful in with my laundry to remove stains and it works like a charm. Highly recommend it...obviously!
