Happy Valentines Day!- Early for you.

valentines

Last night Brody and I made valentine poems for our boys.  (The glitter glue was harder to manage than we thought it would be)  We made them last night, because today we are celebrating Valentines day!  After Blue gets home from school, we are going to give the boys their v- day presents, and I’m going to attempt to make a heart shaped pizza, and then watch “Lady and the Tramp,”  because that’s kind of a movie about love….

Tomorrow on the actual Valentines day is Brody’s 30th birthday, so after Blue’s last basketball game, the day is going to be all about celebrating him!

Have a Happy Valentines Day, or Friday, whichever it is for you!

*Do you ever change the dates you celebrate certain holidays or birthdays?

Those are so sweet. The things that are hand made are worth so much more than the things bought.

We never change the day we celebrate holidays but we do sometimes change the day for birthdays. If the birthday is in the middle of the week we usually will do something small and maybe have a small gift but the real celebration will be on the weekend.

Yes, I have a daughter born on Christmas eve. I used to celebrate it a couple of weeks early and my other kids were kind of jealous that she’d still be getting b-day presents up ’til her actual b-day.

My other daughter just had a birthday on the 5th & we haven’t celebrated it yet.

I truly miss those days when my daughter was little. Standing on a chair so she could help decorate cookies at the counter. I actually miss the glitter glue and construction paper.
There was a time when we “rearranged” holidays or birthdays to get as many family members as possible together. It’s not always easy. I think it teaches a little flexibility in life.
