I just finished reading TheShack and I love it. I would read while taking the bust o school or work and would get taking away into it. I would start to cry and try to hide it. I would get so into it that I might almost miss my stop. Im normally not into christian fiction at all, but this was good!!!!

I’m totally biased on this, because my dad is an author, but his books are some of the only Christian fiction I’ll endure.

If you kept reading past the pants part, I’m sure you would have found characters complaining about a water fountain in the church building. After that would have been the part about “we preach from the Bible and sing from the hymnal”.

I’m just guessing, here.

I read a lot of Christian fiction. My favorite author is Ted Dekker, but coming in at a close second is Angela Hunt. If you check out Angela’s blog, she has links to many of her fellow authors. I’m currently reading “Every Now and Then” by Karen Kingsbury. I enjoy her work, but sometimes it’s a little too “neatly wrapped” for me. I think that’s why I prefer Dekker.

I like Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti. Both write great thrillers with lots of plot twists and very interesting characters.

For an “easy” read before bed or something, I really enjoy Janette Oke. I love the American pioneer era and the series “Love Comes Softly” is one of my absolute favorites to say the least. It reminds me of the “hearty” spirit pioneer women had.

I like a lot of Christian fiction! But um, no, not the kind about people who care if a woman wears pants. Or for crying out loud, if she sleeps in one Sunday. What about the last three Sundays? Because that would be our house. And so to answer your question, I like reading about Christians who are REAL, like me. REAL sinners who need a REAL God in their REAL lives.

That’s what I like.
