My oldest son just got done with his winter school break, and by the end he and our middle son were constantly arguing with each other.  Our middle son, Aiden has always had the nickname “calm like a bomb,”  in our family.  He’s quiet and calm, until he can’t take it anymore and then explodes!

Some of the arguments were hilarious…

  • It started with Blue singing as loudly as he can, “Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer….”
  • Then I hear, Aiden saying, “Bluey stop it!  Dogs don’t sing, Stop it stop it!!!!!”
  • Next I hear Blue humming loudly the tune of rudolph the red nosed reindeer…
  • Then I hear Aiden running down the hallway in tears, saying, “Mama, I’m a dog, pretending to sleep, and bluey’s keeping me pretend awake!”

Another game they like to play is Kings and knights, who slay dragons.  My oldest always tries to get his little brother to play the servant.  One day I hear Aiden reaching his limit and yelling from their room, “I am not a servant, or a person who brings you anything!”

My younger sister and I always argued about barbies. Who got to be which one (the “pretty” ken was a particular dispute), who got to live on top of the table and who had to live under the table. One day my dad got so fed up with us arguing over barbies that he brought a trash bag in and threatened to throw them all away. That made us shut up in a hurry!

My brother was 3 years older than me and we were constantly at it. He talked me into digging a deep hole one day. He said we were going to dig to China lol. Well, being in the south we hit red clay. He then told me that I must have done something wrong cause we had gone to he11 istead of China. I ran inside sobbing. Not really an argument but it was torture lol.

A side note: We dug the really huge hole in the middle of my mothers flower bed! oops!!!

Zion told me yesterday…”When is Uncle Matty gonna finished my room?, ’cause I am moving in with you and papa forever. Then I can be boss”….
    Hmmmmm

My brother is 8 1/2 years older than me and my sister is 12 years older. I used to get away with a lot ;)

I broke my arm when I was eight. I tripped over a concrete stepping stone in our yard and landed on another one. My brother told all his friends that he broke my arm because I “gotta out a line.” It seemed like my dad always took his side and my mom always took mine; even though that wasn’t really the case.

I think the most trouble he ever got in though was when he through me in the pool. I was only 2 and he didn’t know I couldn’t swim! Needless to say, I learned in a hurry!

Such a wonderful picture of your two oldest Kristin! And the recount of their “Rudolph Throwdown” – too cute.

My sister and I are only 21 months apart, but have always been very unique/different from each other and “in our own skin.” I think the thing that drove her the most nutty about me growing up was that I was constantly singing. And I knew the words to everything (or so it seemed to her). Especially when we were all in the car and she couldn’t leave. She finally lobbied hard (and prevailed) to get the “only every other song Melody” rule put in place. And my dad was a singer too. I was incredulous he allowed such a thing. Ha! LOL! :)

That’s so funny! My girls often had fights while pretending. Now that they’re older, the fights are usually over the computer or someones music being played too loud.

Those siblings can run ya nuts….but they are also your best friend. Gotta love those sibling fights!
    Thanks for sharing

My sister and I were horrible to our little brother. We would threaten to tell his best friend if he told on us. Once he called our bluff and we paid for it!

Great shot! OH siblings…love and hate all at teh same time. But that is what is building those lifetime bonds.

My siblings and I still fight like mad :)

    Happy TTT!
