Mittens in My Future.

mitten

Last night I figured out how to make this mitten. My dad and husband were sucked into the football game, and my boys were busy tackling each other. I sat in the corner and played with the yarn, trying to figure out how to make something new.

First came a thumb warmer, then a bracelet. Then my slow brain, put the two together, and went, “hey I could probably figure out how to make a mitten!” I called out to the boys, “let me know when you are hungry!” And I dove into creative land, that can not be disturbed by wrestling boys, or men yelling at the football players on t.v.

When I am in this zone, my “mommy focus” sets in strongly, the boys sense that and make it their focus to distract me. Taking off their shirts and running around and around in circles… pinning a button on my pants…. sitting on my shoulders…. asking over and over, “is that for me?”

For sure now, I will make them some mittens! Now I just need some softer yarn!

Great Job Kristin!! That’s so neat to figure stuff like that out!!
I have only ever knitted scarves…. I don’t know if I’d know how to do anything that actually required skill!! :)

Very impressive! I’ve always wanted to learn to knit as I have a “thing” for scarves. Maybe someday. I like the blue and gray together.

That’s awesome. I love to figure out new things like that. You could sell them on Etsy!

Kristin – You are so clever and creative. And at so many different things. God has given you all these various talents, gifts, and skills… just one after another after another. I love it. You are a renaissance woman! :)

Very cool! I love it! Did you knit or crochet? They look crocheted. I’m totally into crocheting, but I so can’t knit. I am way too clumsy! Too many things to keep track of and too many things flying around. You are amazing, I can do a good scarf if I have a pattern. (I did some cute hats a couple of years ago, straight lines though.) You did a crazy good job.

They are crocheted! I can knit too- but it’s a lot harder for me than crocheting….

kricketd~ I know you can! I love the scarf and hat we have for the boys you crocheted them a few years back.
