Christmas-y Things

~ We’ve been busy catching up with family, and getting ready for Christmas. The boys, Brody, their Mammo and I sat down and painted some ornaments last night, which I think will be precious to have in the years to come, and is a very fun memory for the kids.
~Tonight we get to go to our traditional Andrew Peterson “Behold the Lamb of God,” Christmas show, and we are excited to share the experience with some new friends, and our parents.
~My friend gets the yearly very “creative” Christmas letter, with the family and their year put into a them-ed story, with them as the characters…. this year the theme was “Scooby Doo,” complete with him saying things in the “raa roo” kind of way…. (anyone else get crazy Christmas letters?)
~ I want to watch a Christmas movie for our family night this week- new or old, what is your suggestion?

I have to watch “The Little Drummer Boy” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” along with “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” every year. Absolute gems.

So glad you all are having a blessed time. Enjoy “Behold the Lamb” again. Per Brody’s recommendation – I took my mom to see it last year for the first time. It was fabulous! We laughed, we cried, we sang… wonderful memories for us both. As far as the Christmas movie, if you go for an old one I suggest “The Bishop’s Wife” with Cary Grant 1947.
Have fun.

I just love A Christmas Story. We watch it every year. The best part is that it has stuff kids like and hilarious jokes that fly right over their heads. Your crew might be a little too young right now, but it will be perfect in a few years. Merry Christmas!

My family loves “The Muppet’s Christmas Carol”. We’ve been watching it for years. The kids are now 20,19,16,14, and 13 and they still love it.
Last night we had our annual “White Christmas” viewing. Again, we’ve done it for years. We know all the lines and editing mistakes. Every year we laugh at the same spots. “…kiss my foot or have and apple!”
Believe me, you will cherish those ornaments. My kids make fun of each other’s handmade ornaments and fight for choice hanging spots. It makes for a lively night.

Looks like fun.
We’re going to the Behold The Lamb of God concert tonight for the first time. I’ve been a long-time fan of Andrew Peterson but this is his first Christmas concert I’ve had the chance to go to. Can’t wait!

Melody is right, “The Bishop’s Wife” is amazing. As is Nancy’s suggestion, “White Christmas.” My only other recommendation would be “Holiday Inn.” I watch that movie all year round.
