~My dad saved the day yesterday. I had taken my boys up to the library to wait for my husband to arrive in town. When I returned to the car, it wouldn’t start. I called my dad, who showed up, and hung out with us in the parking lot for 2 hours, while we waited for the AAA guy to show up and give the car a jump.
~My dad is always willing to help, and he does it joyfully. He’s always out helping his neighbors with various things, and truly loves to help out. We are lucky to have him as our dad, and papa.
We:
~Made two scarecrow cakes. One for the school festival, and one for us.
~My friend watched my little ones so I could eat lunch at school with my boy.
~Blue’s hair turned pink- at the school festival.
~The boys camped in a tent at the foot of my bed.
~My friend brought me warm apple cobbler last night- which I did not share.
~After 6 breakouts, and putting 5 chairs, 1 highchair, 2 giant bean bags, and an large exercise ball-in the hallway to my kitchen, I successfully barricaded my dog “macgyver” in.
~Lost at UNO to my 3 year old, and to a stuffed dog named “hot dog.”
~Starting to read the Dave Ramsey book that was handed out to us at church today.
Good weekend all in all. How was yours?
*(this was a part of stats suck sundays where you can also see a picture of my husband’s amazing football playing costume… I mean uniform.)

“Funny Face Pumpkins” (family fun printables)

The “this was supposed to be so much cuter and rounder, and probably would’ve worked better with leaves instead of tree branches- pumpkin.”

“Keep Calm and Carry On” was the theme of my last 5 days. My husband has been gone for 5 days, and I have slept little, dealt with a dog with OCD itching issues, (enough to make him bleed) a dog who has also decided to suddenly relieve himself on the carpet, and little boys who for some reason want to wake up at 5 am each day. I’ve spilt an entire cup of coffee in my car, been late places, have a leaking water heater, received some kind of important letter about our mortgage that I can’t decipher, and have felt wound pretty tightly.
However the above phrase has been helpful. I’ve lost my cool a few times, but all in all, I had a really great time with my kids. I had a weekend long game of UNO with my son, played basketball with him and received a picture from him, of me playing basketball, with an “I love yow” written at the top. We planted the cuttings from our “sentimental plant,” with my dad. I’ve been able to watch a lot of chick flicks, and read a novel. Our home group has been so helpful with checking in on me, and is bringing me dinner once a week while my husband is traveling.
Thankfully he’s on his way home now for a couple of days. I will try my best not to sprint out the door as soon as he walks in.
