A day of prayer and worry.

Yesterday was a rough day.

It started out with me praying for my best friends mom as she underwent a biopsy and awaits the results. My heart is heavy for her, and her family right now.

Then, I spent most of the day trying to locate my own mother who was in a hospital somewhere in CA. The hospitals there aren’t allowed to give out ANY information, including even if she was there or not.
I spoke with my aunt, my mom’s sister, about the situation. She can’t do much from Texas either, and was in fact headed out the door to spend the last few moments with her sister in law who is loosing her battle to cancer.

Then, my son jumped off of the couch, (against the rules in our house, after he broke his ankle that way…) and landed on his head. He screamed and then flopped onto the bean bag and laid there covering his eyes. He kept falling asleep, and not answering us when we talked to him. We put him to bed, and a few minutes later he was throwing up and crying out. He started to hit at me and said, “you aren’t my mom!” He was getting really agitated, confused and disoriented. We quickly put him in the car and my husband drove him to the ER. After a cat scan and a couple hour stay, they concluded that he had a concussion.
The wait at home for me was terrible. I clutched my phone awaiting the news, and sat and prayed. My thoughts would begin to linger onto the worst case scenario, and then I’d stop myself and pray.

Thank you to everyone else who was praying as well.

He is doing better today. I took him in to see his own doctor for the follow up appointment, and she suggested lots of rest, and medication for his headache. His balance is still off, and his head hurts him, but he’s got a great appetite, and his sweet spirit is back, for which I am thankful.

Please keep these people in your prayers, they all need them right now.

Sweet Kristin – What a day you had yesterday! Blue’s accident in and of itself would be enough to knock the wind right out of us all, but then adding your bf’s mom, your own mom, and your aunt’s sister-in-law… goodness. I am sure you must feel “rung out.”
I will be sure to lift each of these people up in prayer. I know the Lord understands exactly where each of them are today and why – even if we do not.
Praise God your Blue is doing better. I am so glad you are there to be home with him, take him in for follow-ups, and make sure he gets back to 100% Blue boy. You and Brody are doing a great job. Keep hanging in there. We are all praying for your family.
