~What is your favorite summer olympic sport to watch?

My son, drove down a hill, on an electric scooter, going too fast, nearly crashed into a rock fire pit, but launched and landed instead, in a pool…. and he can’t swim.

My husband has the better story plus diagram.

I nearly had a heart attack. It’s funny to see how my husband and I process emergencies. I react instantly, and he stands and takes it all in, thinking things through. He’s the strong and secure one throughout, while I am instantly in action, running- then shaking and scared afterward. I guess it’s a good balance.

I’m understanding more of what Brody’s mom went through. I had my share of crashes growing up, as well. I’m not looking forward to going through that again, but with 3 boys I am sure that accidents are inevitable.

*My son is fine today, with just a scratched up leg.

This week we’ve been working on quite a few projects around our house for the boys’ rooms. The challenge is to use things we already have, and turn something old into something new.

We still have quite a few things to do, but here’s a peek at what we’ve done so far…

This dresser is 30+ years old, and has had multiple paint jobs throughout the years. One by one the drawers fell apart. So, with only two little drawers left on top, I turned it into a costume closet!

The boys did a fantastic paint job on it, my favorite being “our family” on the side.

This next one was a train table, which was getting more use as a plat form to jump off of. My oldest needed a table to do “homework” on in his room, (he said,) and a place to hold our keyboard. So, we just pulled the tracks off, and he went to town on it.

*Wordless Wednesday.

Today is my husband and my’s (or is it I’s?) 8th wedding anniversary!

We have had a great 8 years, full of ups and downs, good times and bad. We’ve been weathering these seasons all these years, and are still growing closer day by day.

I still learn new things about him- for instance, the other day I learned that he likes to drink milk with popcorn, and even fill a cup with popcorn and then pour milk on top of it. (what?…gross…)

I feel very fortunate to have him as a husband who is considerate and loving, as the father of my children who cares and loves them deeply, and as a friend who I can laugh with.  

~So, Happy 8th Anniversary, Husband!
