The Camping Adventure
Overall, our overnight camping trip was a lot of fun. We winded down, and had a good break. We laughed a lot, over unexpected occurrences… and had fun anyways.
The highlight for me was hiking through the woods to the waterfalls, with Blue leading the way, and giving us our indian names. He was “King Big Leaf,” Aiden was “sits like a buffalo,” but he asked to just be called, “indian,” and I was indian princess “small leaf,” Brody was Chief, and Cooper was the papoose.
The trees had these cool flowers on them, there were caves, and tunnels to walk through, which was so fun. There were lots of bugs, and spiders, but apparently “grand daddy long leg spiders don’t bite, because they’re Grandpas.” (according to Blue.)
Sleeping in the tee pee went surprisingly well, once we finished our stories, and told Cooper “night night,” and left the flashlight on because someone had painted glow in the dark faces on the inside, and the boys thought they were ghosts, so total darkness wasn’t happening. We woke up bright and early to Aiden yelling, “It’s morning!”
After hiking, swimming, and cleaning up, we headed home, picked up a few souvenirs, ate at Olive Garden.. (one of my favorite restaurants…) and nearly fell asleep on the drive back.
Spending concentrated time as a family, relaxing together, was wonderful…. but we’ll probably never go back to that specific campground again…This was by far the weirdest and most hilarious camping place I’ve ever been to… for the reason why read my husband’s take on our trip…

You two are such awesome couple, Kristin! It was great to read Brody’s version and now yours.
You both filled the gaps perfectly and I am grateful you had time away from the city (at least no phone and emails) and spent some quality time with family…God bless!! Love the pics!!!

I just read Brody’s “version” of the vacation…even though the location may not have been what you expected, you’ve certainly gotten a great story out of it!

These two stories are the funniest things I’ve read in a long time! So glad you guys had the family time, though.
I printed these out for my brother; he’ll love it.
