He didn’t want the ice pop, he wanted a popsicle,”with a stick.”

When I asked him “why don’t you like the ice pops?”

He said, “I like the way those taste, but I don’t like to look at them.”

The 40 day Fast is off to a start!

You can follow along via the Inspired to Action site, where there will be daily challenges, verses, thoughts and links to the writers for that day.

The first writer is Brant, who is usually pretty hilarious with his sarcastic sense of humor, but can also be serious in a really good way.

*Make sure to leave a supportive, thoughtful comment for him, and continue to follow along for the full 40 days, it’s going to be awesome! If you still want to join up, go and register and we’ll add you onto a day!

Isaiah 58:7-9

June 22, 2008 - 7:07 pm 3 Comments

“What I’m interested in seeing you do is:
sharing your food with the hungry,
inviting the homeless poor into your homes,
putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad,
being available to your own families.

Do this and the lights will turn on,
and your lives will turn around at once.

Your righteousness will pave your way.
The God of glory will secure your passage.
Then when you pray, God will answer.
You’ll call out for help and I’ll say, ‘Here I am.’”

~Isaiah 58:7-9 (The Message version)

Kung fu Panda, Costco, and Unbreakable Glass Bottles.

I took my two oldest boys on a date to see Kung Fu Panda. I really liked it, and so did they.  It was fun to be out with just the two of them and hang out, eating candy and watching a movie.

It made even me want to do kung fu after watching it, so you can imagine what it did to a 5 and 3 year old.  There was some major “hi ya”-ing, going on in the car and throughout Costco after the movie.  (there was also a lot of sugar pulsing through their bodies…)  Let’s just say I’m so greatful that all those glass bottles didn’t actually break when they hit the ground, after they were punched off the shelf….

*Note to self:  Take the boys on a date again.  But, don’t take them to Costco afterward.  Take them instead to a park, or open land, or even have them run a couple of laps on a track after ingesting that much sugar and watching a kung fu movie, but don’t take them to Costco.
