Summertime Dusk

I think my favorite part of the day is dusk.  I love being outside in general, I could be all day long, but I really love to drive or walk around at dusk.  The sun is such a warm, soft color, and it makes all the other colors seem warm, soft and peaceful.  There’s just this feeling that goes along with it, that makes me relax.  If I didn’t get everything I needed to get done that day, then- oh well.  At dusk, I don’t need to think about it.  The day is closing, and tommorrow is still far enough away.

It’s as if there’s these few hours that are made for being reflective, or stilling your mind all together, and it seems that whatever kind of day I’ve had, when dusk comes, I can take a moment and look at the sky, and feel ok.

(It’s also the best time of the day to take pictures, I’ve heard)

If I had to choose, I think I like to watch a sunset, over a sunrise.

How about you?

I’d definitely go for the sunset, too. It seems like sunsets are often more intense in their colors….

Although one time I saw an amazing sunrise out an airplane window. It blew my socks off.

I agree. My only problem is that as soon as dusk hits I totally lose steam and anything that needs to get done usually does not. Oh, well I think it is more important to just enjoy these times.

That’s a tough choice. Sunrises fill me with joy as I watch the world wake up, and sunsets fill me with calm and peace.

    Love this post.

I love a sunset! I agree that dusk is the best time of the day to reflect, think, pray. There is something so peaceful about it.

I also agree. There is a peace that happens around that time. I really enjoy that.
Sunsets are beautiful.. I have to admit, I have seen many more sunsets than sunrises.
    Love you, Mom

I think I’m a sunrise girl. I love the dawning of a new day – filled with possibility.

I have fond memories of waking up REALLY early for tennis tournaments and riding on the bus, listening to music watching the sun rise.

To this day, I love to watch the day arrive.

I get that peaceful feeling when it’s raining. For some reason, I relax and just go with the day.

Dusk definantly. Sunrises aren’t fun when you are so tired you can barely see them. I love to be able to take a breath and watch a sunset. After a busy day I need that
