Hi work buddy!

“Hi work buddy…” “Have I got a job for you…” “Pick a tool, and lets get to work..”

Those are quotes from my sons’ tool belt that he’s had for a couple of years, and I now have those phrases memorized.

This toy will suddenly start speaking one of those phrases, out of nowhere. It’s kind of creepy sometimes. Especially when we are upstairs, and the tool belt is downstairs. At times like that, I’m glad to have a talking tool belt, as opposed to a talking doll or something- like that Elmo that was making death threats.  That would really freak me out.

I can’t remember to pay my bills on time, or my dad’s birthday, but I have things that my kids’ toys say completely memorized.  Does this mean I’m an audible learner?  Maybe I should record things I need to remember into a toy and have my kids push those buttons over and over all day, maybe then I wouldn’t forget.

~Have any toys that drive you crazy, creep you out, or that you have memorized?

Loved the computer games my children used to play when they were little. One phrase I memorized from a Tonka truck building game, “Finish one job before you start another!” and from Fisher Price Wild Western Town from a grandpa cowboy, “Well, brand me sideways!” I still have both those rattling around in my brain, and it’s been at least five years since they’ve played those games.

You may have just stumbled across the next wave a baby toys… Record important things for you to remember and have them play that all the time.

I thing of an episode of The Simpson’s where Homer tries to cheat PBS – Elmo is talking to him through the TV, saying in a very creepy voice “Elmo knows where you live!” A little creepy. Otherwise, the creepiest thing I have in my house is Baby Alive, that poops and eats and talks. Really, the way my daughter will take a dolls clothes off and, with this one, the “poop” hole – ugh, I shudder.

For some reason that post title cracked me up…

We have a creepy toy too. It’s an truck that sings Old MacDonald and it will start randomly – when no one is around.
