The Hot Awesomes

That is the name of our family guitar hero band… “The Hot Awesomes.” We have the occasional guest that gets to join for their stay, and rock it with us for awhile, but for the most part these days it’s just me, Brody and Blue.
I have to say that my 5 year old son is the best…
Now he gets limited game time, so it’s not like he’s playing it all day… (right Brody? I don’t know what happens while I’m at work) I think he developed his skills while he was down with the fractured ankle.
Today I promised that I’d play it with Blue, and he spent the whole time laughing at me, while I got booed. As one of the founding members of The hot awesomes, I better step it up so I don’t get kicked out.

Very cute! What struck me as quite funny about this is how quickly new things become a normal part of our collective lives.
What I mean by that is — imagine a time machine, and somebody from ten years ago arrives today and reads this post. They’re not going to have any idea what you’re talking about. (Try reading it from that frame of reference, and see what I mean.) For that matter, there may be people today that still have no idea what you’re talking about.

The Hot Awesomes are both that. Hot and Awesome. I don’t see you ever getting kicked out of the band, but maybe you could drive the van or something.

OK. . . I saw Blue play and I think he has super-hero skills when it comes to this game. It is just not right that a kid would be that good!!!

Don’t EVER let them make you just drive the van! After all, you are the “Hot” half of the “Hot Awesomes” and anyone that’s Hot should not be merely a chauffer. You deserve more! And yes, Brody probably does let Blue play the video game more than he’s supposed to because he’s not nearly as good as managing (read keeping track of) those boys as you are.
