Not the girly girl

I’ve never been a super girly girl, never really liked the color pink, but having this many males in my life, makes me love to look at girly girl things. I like having my sons little girl friends over, so I can play with their hair, and we can color the kitten pictures together. I ooo and ahhh over the cute little girl clothes in stores, and tell my husband how much money I’d waste on clothes, if we’d had a girl. So it’s probably good we didn’t.
I saw this picture of a petti skirt that you can make for your little girl, and I loved it!
How cute is this?

As the mother of one son and THREE girls, I can testify to the amount of money spent on girls’ clothing. My 18 year old son will wear whatever I buy him. No labels, no specs, etc. Just as long as it fits, and not orange, he’s fine. My girls, on the other hand, would change clothes 18 times a day if I’d let them. They also want “accessories” to go with every outfit, and shoes to match. YIKES! I am a “tomboy” from the word go, prefer men’s clothing to women’s (it fits much better on me), can hardly spell fashion, much less care about it, and my girls are complete opposites. Frilly to the core. I’ll send them over sometime so you can do their hair, paint their nails and color together. I’ll take the boys out for ice cream and and a game of baseball.

My daughter is way more girly than I am. I have never even had my nails done, and she’s had at least 10 manicures (she’s almost 11 years old).
I’m trying to turn her into a thrift store shopper, like I am. She likes it, but she still prefers the mall. What can you do?

To clarify, the manicures were all obtained through her great-grandma, a true girly lady!

kyle said he thought it was cute….
and would allow me to make it for our girl….
maybe for halloween. we have already started getting clothes for our baby, and we are finding we like some boy stuff more so we figure if we have a girl, there is nothing that a little bow in her hair wont fix!
